Hotel Review : Six Senses Samui, Thailand

May 2017, Location : Koh Samui, Thailand

I flew down to Koh Samui, Thailand for a long weekend and I stayed at Six Senses Samui

Six Senses Samui is a luxury resort, part of the Six Senses Hotels Resort and Spas. The resort is located in Choeng Mon beach, Koh Samui. You can fly from Bangkok to Koh Samui directly (Bangkok Airways or Thai Airways)

I arrived at 10 am and it was too early to check-in but our GEM (Guest Experience Maker or Butler) took me to the bar area and gave me a welcome drink. From the bar I enjoyed the sea view with my welcome drink.  I went to play pool and check out their hang out room with toys and books while we waited for the room to be ready.

The Resort has 66 private villas, many with private pools.  Six Senses Resorts is well known for being a green resort, they tried to not use plastic wherever possible so no plastic bags, plastic water bottles and instead of plastic straws they gave us lemongrass instead.

Its main pool is an infinity pool and it was very quiet because most of the villas have a private pool. The view from the main pool was so incredible , you can see Koh Som.

The famous restaurant Dining On The Rocks and Dining On The Hill are located in this resort. All the restaurants have incredible views. The only one I tried was Dining On The Hill. This is the same area where guests eat breakfast. You can have breakfast with an incredible view over the sea.

I tried their Thai food and western food. They made very good Thai food but western food was just average for me. ( It is unbelievable that I found very good Thai food in this resort because it normally so hard to find good Thai food in hotels or resorts, normally just average)

The beach here is good, clean and has clear water but you can not walk down to the beach from your villa, you have to walk or call for buggy to take you to the beach path and staircase and then walk down to the beach. (100 stairs).

The resort has ten sunbeds but it is enough because the beach was very quiet. Kayaks are available for guests to rent.

I stayed in the Hideaway Villa without private pool (but my sisters stayed in Pool Villa, I will show you both)

Hideaway Villa has no private pool and it is split into two levels. The upper level has the bedroom and shower room and the sundeck is on the lower level. The room came with welcome fruits and two bottles of water

The bedroom has a very comfortable bed and a mosquito net, Sixth Sense Samui has turn down service in the evening, this is good because you don’t have to worry about the mosquitos which can be a problem when you stay in an eco natural resort.

The villa has an outdoor shower and all shower amenities had a fresh, natural, herb smell and it had a very large baht tub with sea view.

The Pool villa has a partial sea view and a private pool but the upper level is the same as the Hideaway villa.

The resort had many activities and classes for guests like a Thai boxing class, Thai cooking class, yoga class, kayaking etc. We enjoyed the Thai cooking class and got a certificate, cost 2500/person.

Six Senses Samui is a luxury resort, for me it is the perfect resort !! Our GEM Khun Prae was so cute and she gave us excellent service. All staff at dining on the hill were very professional. I enjoyed every second while I stayed here.

My one negative was the price of food, it was a little bit expensive, in my opinion it should be cheaper than it is.
