Hotel Review : Sensimar Khao Lak Beachfront Resort, Thailand

April 2017, Location : Khao Lak, Phangnga, Thailand

I flew down to Phuket, Thailand for a vacation in Khao Lak, Phangnga, Thailand for four days and three nights.

We stayed at Sensimar Khao Lak Beach resort and spent most of our time by the many pools or the sea.

Sensimar Khao Lak Beachfront Resort is a 4 star resort. The resort is located in Khao Lak, Phangnga, Thailand. You can fly to Phuket Airport and then you can get private taxi or private van from airport to the resort (cost 1500 – 2000 baht)

When we arrived, the resort welcomed us with a drink and cold towels. It has an air conditioned lobby and waiting lounge. This is good because you don’t have to worry about very hot weather while you wait for your room to be ready.

The resort has a lot pools (3-4 pools) and one even has a pool bar. The pool bar was a little bit busy when I stayed here but the other pools were so quiet.

It has two beachfront restaurants and one beach bar ,I tried only the main beachfront restaurant. This is the same area where guests eat breakfast, it means you can have breakfast with a super good view of the sea, sand and sun

When I was staying at Semsimar Khao Lak beach resort I tried Thai food and western food, the prices were not terrible and they made good western food but Thai food just so so for me. ( Actually I think this is a little bit problem for Thai people, we can’t find good Thai food in hotels because we love too strong flavors in our food compared to foreigners, That’s why we love to eat street food )

It has many sunbeds down by the beach but sometimes it seemed like their were not enough. Everybody loves to stay by beach and the sun so sometimes finding a free sunbed can be hard. It has a very clean beach and clear sea. I saw staff clean the beach often, maybe that was why the beach looked so clean. Also if you are bored of the beach and the sea then you can do other activities like going to the gym, swimming and relaxing in the pool or play some sports like table tennis or even go to the spa (not so expensive for the beach – massage/spa treatments cost like 400 – 600 baht for one hour)

I stayed in the deluxe room with a pool view and the room came with welcome fruits and many different types of sweets. The room is so big, more than 40 sqm. It has separate shower room and toilet. The room has a big balcony with a table and two chairs, you can smoke and drink beer here. It has a big comfortable bed and a sofa for laying down and chilling out. I remember  that there was no minibar in room but it has sign about a minibar package, if you want it then just call to reception. It has all amenities you want in the room, shampoo, soap, body lotion, hair dryer, toothbrush etc.

Sensimar Khao Lak Beachfront Resort is not a luxury resort but staff did their job as they work in five star resort, friendly and helpful. All area were so clean room, pools, floor, beach and walk way. The location is great, can just walk to Khao Lak Center for many restaurants, cafe, shops. Also close to Tublamu Pier, the pier for go to Similan Islands like ten minutes by car.

But would be better if it has more light in room. I think light in room was too dark and should have more choice for Thai food. Also should have like beach bag for guest for put stuff and take it to the beach.

Star : 4.5/5
